Six Nations round-up: England continue their unbeaten run against Ireland as France beat Wales

Defending champions England continued their march to the title and a Grand Slam as they maintained their perfect record in the Six Nations this afternoon.

They secured a 27-0 victory over Ireland in front of a sell-out crowd at Castle Park in Doncaster. The Red Roses' dominant performance ended the Irish unbeaten run as they had won their first two fixtures.

England captain Sarah Hunter went over to score in the third minute to put the Roses ahead.

Star Abby Dow scored her fourth try in three games as she dotted down the ball in the 14th to put her side 12-0 up.

Harlequins' Jess Breach and Saracens' Vicky Fleetwood both added scores to secure the bonus point before the break.

Sarah McKenna added England's fifth and last try to secure the win.

It was more bad news for Ireland as their captain Senu Naoupu and Lindsay Peat were both stretchered off the pitch.

Elsewhere, Wales were searching for their first win in the tournament and had home advantage over France in Cardiff.

Cyrielle Banet scored two tries in the first half and Laure Sansus added another to see France 19-0 up at the break.

France continued the momentum in the second half with Safi N’Diaye scoring and Laure Sansus going over for her second to put the French 31-0 up after 50 minutes.

Marine Menager, Julie Annery and Camille Boudaud added three more tries to secure a convincing 50-0 victory.

Finally, Italy vs Scotland was postponed due to health concerns in the country surrounding coronavirus. The date and time of the rescheduled fixture has not yet been confirmed.
