Ulster and Ireland rugby player Claire McLaughlin has sent out an impasioned plea for people to say at home.

And as a doctor working in A&E, she's in the ideal position to pass on the Government's advice.

The 28-year-old recorded a video that was uploaded to Ulster's Twitter page, focusing on what the general public can do during this pandemic.

She said: "I'm currently working as a doctor in the Ulster A&E and I wanted to come on here to let you know how you can be involved in the fight back against coronavirus.

"Over the last couple of weeks we have seen an increase in the number of patients coming in with symptoms of Covid-19.

"Unfortunately, as I'm sure you're aware, we don't have a cure for this. There's only certain supportive measures that we can provide but really we don't have a solution.

"But you can be part of the solution. As health care workers in the NHS, we're not the frontline, you out there in the community are the frontline.

"You have the ability to reduce the spread of this virus and you can do that by your actions and by following the government guidance that has been given.

"So please stay at home, if you have to leave keep a social distance of at least two meters from other people, wash your hands and wash them often, wash them for 20 seconds. 

"These are the things that are going to change how this virus impacts us in our communities and our province.

"So I urge you, stay at home, wash your hands and play your part."
