Team Muirhead sets sights on a third European Curling Championship title

Eve Muirhead is set to compete for a third European Curling Championship title with Scotland in November in Norway.

Muirhead's side lost in the final last year against Sweden and it remains unclear if the team will have any competition before the championships take place due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But now Muirhead, 30, is eager to seal victory and is ‘excited’ to represent Scotland again.

She said: "It is always exciting to get the chance to represent our country and to be selected for the Europeans does show that we are at the top of our game.

“It will be great to be back at the Europeans and have a chance to test ourselves against some of the very best teams the sport has to offer and we plan to grab this opportunity with both hands and run with it.”

Skipper Bruce Mouat has confirmed his team will compete in the men’s version of the competition.

The tournament will act as a qualification opportunity for teams to secure a spot in the World Curling Championships in 2021.

The European Curling Championships will run from 21-28 November in Norway.
