Britain's Boulter fights back from set down to beat Di Lorenzo at Mexico Open

Britain's Katie Boulter came from a set down to beat American Francesca di Lorenzo and advance through to the third round of the Mexico Open.

The 23 year-old, who was scheduled to face Italian Jasmine Paolini before she had to pull out and Di Lorenzo replaced her, won 2-6 6-3 6-2 in Acapulco.

Boulter got off to a poor start  as she was broken twice in succession, allowing her opponent to race into a 4-0 lead.

And Di Lorenzo comfortably served out the opening set to leave the Brit a lot of work to do.

The pattern of the match appeared to continue in the first game of the second set when Di Lorenzo broke again to close in on an impressive victory.

But Boulter fought back to force two quick breaks of her own and send the match to a decider.

And with her tail up, the former world No 82 broke twice early in the third set to secure the victory and extend her stay in Mexico.

Boulter will now face China's Lin Zhu in the last 16 of the tournament as she continues to re-build from her lengthy period out last year with a stress fracture which has seen her drop to world No 394.
