Former Wimbledon semi-finalist Magdalena Rybarikova to retire after Fed Cup Finals
Former Wimbledon semi-finalist Magdalena Rybarikova has announced she will retire after the Fed Cup Finals in April.
The 31-year-old Slovakian will be a part of her national team that faces the USA and Spain in Group C in Hungary.
And regardless of whether or not Slovakia makes it to the semi-finals of the Fed Cup, Rybarikova insists it is the right time to bow out of the game.
Speaking to Slovakian television, she said: "I had time to think about it. [Fed Cup] will be a nice spot in my career [to retire].
“The year 2017 was my best, but the year before I had two operations and I was already considering whether it would work, and whether I would go back.
"Then, unfortunately, the injuries came again. I had a lot of them. Last year, I went from injury to injury."
Slovakia reached the Fed Cup Finals by beating Great Britain 3-1 in February.
