Konta looks to rebuild at Cincinnati Masters after disappointing time at the Rogers Cup

Johanna Konta will look to bounce back from a disappointing grass court season when she takes on Sweden's Rebecca Peterson at the Cincinnati Masters.

Britain's number one was dumped out of the Rogers Cup in the first round by Dayana Yastremska as she fell to a 6-3 6-2 defeat last week.

Prior to that, the French Open semi-finalist was also beaten at her home Grand Slam by Barbora Strycova, who won 7-6 7-5 in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon.

But now Konta will be hoping she can have a strong run in Cincinnati as she opens her week with a match against the world number 74, a player she has not yet faced in her career to date.

Despite being the favourite to come through, she will have to be careful given she crashed out in the first round in Cincinnati 12 months ago to Aryna Sabalenka.

The winner will face the victor of Bernarda Pera's tie with Veronika Kudermetova, and could face no.3 seed Karolina Pliskova in the third round.
