Petra Kvitova has beaten Ashleigh Barty in the semi-finals of the Qatar Open.

Despite Barty fighting back from being a set down, Kvitova proved too much for the world No 1, going through 6-4 2-6 6-4.

Barty said post-match: “Another really great contest with Petra.

“I love testing myself against her and (it was) a match in which she played extremely well and took the match away from me in key moments.”

Kvitova will play Aryna Sabalenka this afternoon after she beat Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-3 6-4 in their semi-final.
