Jennifer Brady has beaten Elina Svitolina in straight sets at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

Brady dominated wildcard Svitolina as the American cruised to a surprise 6-2 6-1 win.

World No. 3 Svitolina was ousted from the tournament in exactly an hour as she failed to get to grips wit the power of her opponent.

This is not the first upset that Brady has handed out this year as she beat world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty in straight sets at the Brisbane International in January.

The upset is arguably even greater in Dubai as Svitolina had not exited the competition before the semi-final stage since 2015 and won the tournament back-to-back in 2017 and 2018.

After the match, Brady said: "I just believe I can go out there and win it. 

"Obviously respecting my opponent, but not to the point where I put the opponent on a pedestal, have to think that I have to play my best tennis in order to win. I was just focused on my game plan, myself."
