Women’s Super League and Championship return zero positive Covid-19 cases in latest round of tests

The Football Association has announced that there have been no positive cases in the Women’s Super League and Championship in the latest round of coronavirus tests.

Between July 12 and July 19, a total of 1,194 Covid-19 tests were carried out.

Previously, a total of 802 players were tested at the start of the month which found just one positive case.

As clubs have started to return to training, players are required to be tested twice a week with mandatory temperature checks upon arrival.

The new WSL and Championship seasons are set to begin on September 5 after the 2019-20 campaigns were halted due to the pandemic.

Chelsea were crowned WSL champions and Aston Villa were promoted to the WSL after an unbeaten season, winning 13 games and drawing one.
