WWE star Becky Lynch says 'more needs to be done' in getting female wrestlers

WWE star Becky Lynch says 'more needs to be done' in getting female wrestlers involved.

The current SmackDown champion is set to defend her title at WrestleMania this weekend against Shayna Baszler.

And although she has helped raise the profile of women in WWE after she became the first to hold both the Raw and SmackDown titles simultaneously, she believes more can still be done.

Ahead of WWE's biggest show of the year, the 33 year-old said: "I think there's always more work to be done.

"I think we've been a little diminished on our female Superstars, especially on the Raw side and for a while there was maybe four of us that were active, six [at] the most."

And if she does defeat Baszler she hopes that more women will be up for 'challenging her' and 'making interesting fights'.

She added: "And I think that that's what usually happens after WrestleMania, of course this is an odd WrestleMania, but I'm hopeful that we go forward from here."
