World Cup winning Team US football coach Dawn Scott to join Phil Neville's England set-up

US football coach Dawn Scott is joining Phil Neville's England Women's staff.

The South-Shields born coach will start in December following her departure from the World Champions for whom she has been working since 2010, first under Pia Sundhage and then recently retired Jill Ellis

Scott returns to the England set-up for the first time since 2009 when she left her post as the FA's head of sports science - a position she had held for nine years.

Head coach Neville, whose side are on a poor run of form, said: “I am delighted we have secured Dawn’s services as she has worked and succeeded at the elite level and knows what it takes to win on the world stage.

“She will work closely with my coaching staff and I know the players will be looking forward to getting started with Dawn."

Her role will include increasing dialogue around performance, fitness and testing between the England Lionesses and the 12 Barclay's Women’s Super League sides.

Her first challenge with the National side will be the SheBelieves Cup in the US in February as the Lionesses prepare for the European Championships on home soil in 2021.
