Football fans celebrate at Trafalgar Square as England step closer to ‘bringing it home’

There were huge scenes of celebration at a fanzone in Trafalgar Square after England's fourth goal against Ukraine saw them breeze into the semi-finals of Euro 2020.

Prevented from being in Rome by coronavirus travel restrictions, England-based fans had to content themselves with watching on big screens and in pubs and homes up and down the country.

But they were not disappointed as Gareth Southgate’s team swept Ukraine aside, led by revitalised captain Harry Kane who scored twice.

Now it’s back to Wembley for the semi-final, where they face the emotional rollercoaster ride that is Christian Eriksen’s Denmark.
