COVID-19 Vaccines Do Not Affect Sperm Count

A new study has found that sperm count and quality is not affected by the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. The results of the study were published in the medical journal JAMA. We now have evidence that should reassure you that the risk of immunization compromising your sperm count is extremely low, Dr. David Cohen, co-medical director of the Institute for Human Reproduction. The researchers took two semen samples from 45 healthy men between the ages of 25 and 31. One sample was taken before the first dose of the vaccine, while the second sample was taken 70 days after the second dose. We found no changes in sperm parameters in the young healthy men that we studied who received both doses of mRNA vaccine, Dr. Ranjith Ramasamy, University of Miami Health System. The study did not test the Johnson & Johnson or AstraZeneca vaccines. However, the researchers don’t think that they would see different results from these vaccines
