COVID Has Changed People’s Tinder Habits

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how people approach online dating, according to Tinder CEO Jim Lanzone. Lanzone has said that data suggests that people are looking to get to know each other better before meeting in person. "They just want to slow things down and get to know people first a lot more before they decide to match, let alone before they decide to go meet someone offline," Jim Lanzone, Tinder CEO. The average number of messages sent per day on Tinder is up 19% compared to before the pandemic. The data also shows that people’s conversations on the app are lasting 23% longer than before the pandemic. Due to this, Tinder is now beginning to shift towards more “holistic” profiles to help users get to know each other better online.
