GM To Boost EV Spending To $35 Billion

GM is reportedly planning to boost its global spending on electric and autonomous vehicles to $35 billion through 2025. The news, reported by Reuters, would be a 30% increase in the company’s most recent figures for the period. The increased investment will see the U.S. automaker build two additional U.S. battery plants. The company will also move forward some of its planned EV investments, according to the reports. The news comes after Ford announced that it would be spending over $30 billion on EVs by 2030. GM announced in November that it would increase spending on EVs and autonomous cars to $27 billion through 2025.
