Most Pet Owners Prioritize Their Pets Over Themselves

A recent survey of 2,000 pet owners found that 67% prioritize their pet’s well-being over their own. However, the majority of owners say that taking care of their pets encourages them to take better care of themselves too. 72% of respondents say that their pets help to reduce stress, depression and anxiety. Nearly two-thirds of pet owners say that pets help them to exercise more by going for walks or playing in the garden. Many pet owners would even pass up on date nights or vacations if their pets aren't able to come with them. 65% of people admitted to having a closer relationship with their pet than with immediate family members
