Myk-no-noise: the music stops on Greece’s party island

Greece's famed party island Mykonos has gone quiet after authorities imposed new COVID-19 restrictions, including a music ban, to the anger of business owners and tourists.

Music is not allowed in restaurants and bars and a five-hour overnight curfew has also been introduced.

Mykonos is one of Greece‘s most popular destinations, attracting more than a million visitors each summer including Hollywood stars, models and footballers.

But the Civil Protection Ministry has imposed the measures after a ‘worrying’ local outbreak of Covid-19 infections in recent weeks.
