Spectator who caused multiple crash at Tour de France ‘flees the country'

The spectator who caused a massive crash at the Tour de France has reportedly fled the country.

Tour organisers said they would sue the woman to prevent people spoiling the event for everyone. However, it is believed she got on a flight after the incident and is now untraceable.

The pile-up happened after the woman stuck a banner she was holding out onto the course. German cyclist Tony Martin crashed into it causing him to fall, bringing down several more cyclists.

A total of 21 riders were injured, with German Jasha Suetterlin abandoning the Tour due to his injuries.
