Jill Ellis sees out her last game as USA soccer coach after five years and back-to-back World Cups

Jill Ellis has taken charge of her final game as coach of the USA soccer team after five years in the job.

The 53-year-old led her side to two successive World Cup wins in 2015 and 2019, something which had never previously been done.

She also picked up two SheBelieves Cups and won the 2018 Concacaf Women's Championship.

Her last game in charge ended in a 1-1 draw against South Korea in Chicago and afterwards she spoke emotionally of her experience.

She said: "The opportunity to coach this team and work with these amazing women has been the honour of a lifetime."

It was revealed earlier this summer that she will remain in the US set-up for a year as an ambassador.

The new national team manager is yet to be appointed.
