Simone Biles hits out at 'sick' banner joke about disgraced gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar

Simone Biles has hit out at a sick banner referencing disgraced US gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar.

The banner was hung from a window at a fraternity house in Ann Arbor during the University of Michigan's football game with rival Michigan State. It proclaimed: "You can't touch us @LarryNassar."

A disgusted Biles said on Twitter: "Unbelieveable. This is the type of stuff that makes me sick to my stomach. I hope the school is taking the proper measurements in investigating this."

Nassar was jailed for child pornography offences and criminal sexual conduct with more than 150 girls and women over two decades.

Biles has revealed that she was one of the women he abused.

Rick Fitzgerald, a spokesman for the University of Michigan, said: "The leadership of the local chapter of Psi Upsilon Fraternity took prompt action to remove the banners Saturday and the university's Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life immediately reached out to the chapter president and advisers.

"The chapter will be pursuing corrective action with those responsible for hanging the banners and those who failed to intervene."
