Tennis legend Venus Williams joined talk-show host James Corden in cheerleading for the LA Lakers.

Former New England Patriots player Rob Gronkowski also joined the pair for the half-time cheer in the LA team's 112-107 win over Oklahoma City Thunder.

Williams, who dressed in the iconic Lakers colours of purple and yellow posted to her Instagram story to share a video of her getting ready for her cameo role on the court.

At the game Lebron James became the only player in the National Basketball League's history to score a triple double against every team in the league.

However James wasn't the only athlete to impress with Williams' and Corden's dance moves inciting cheers and a had a huge response on social media.

The video of their performance also went viral.
