UFC fighter Amanda Nunes receives invite to Claressa Shields' next fight

UFC fighter Amanda Nunes has been invited ringside to Claressa Shields' next fight against Ivana Habazin in 2020.

The Brazilian recently defended her bantamweight title against Germaine de Randamie and caught the eye of the two-weight ring champion Shields, who was watching cageside.

Following the UFC 245 fight, there was major talk between the two female fighters. Shields from the US said it would be 'fair' for her and Nunes to take to the ring to see who is the 'best combat sports athlete'.

Shields will be battling it out in a light middleweight title fight next month and the invite to five-time bantamweight figher, Nunes has come from Shields' promoter Dmitriy Salita.

He said: "We’d like to invite Amanda to Claressa’s next fight, which is going to be on Jan. 10. Hopefully she can show up and see Claressa first hand.

"It’s a work in progress – the media is interested, the fans are interested and, from the feedback we’ve received from multiple media sources, you can see how many people will write about it."

Nunes is yet to confirm if she will be attending.
