Watch Anna Swenn Larsson crash out of World Cup slalom to hand Petra Vlhova third successive win

Sweden's Anna Swenn Larsson threw away her 1.17 second lead at the World Cup slalom event in Slovenia as she crashed on her approach to the finish line.

This left the door open for Slovakia's Petra Vlhova to claim her third consecutive win of the series and leapfrog the absent American Mikaela Shiffrin in the overall standings.

Larsson clocked the fastest time of the day on her first run with Vlhova down in fourth, more than nine tenths off the lead and looked on course to take the title before catching an edge within touching distance of the finish line.

Slovakian Vlhova did not dwell on her sub-par first run performance and put in a flawless second to take the title, her 13th podium in her last 15 appearances.

She now sits top of the World Cup standings, 20 points ahead of Shiffrin who is taking a break from competition after the sudden death of her father two weeks ago.
