Everything you need to know about Liverpool vs Everton on Women's Football Weekend

This week we are previewing one Women's Super League game each day as part of Women's Football Weekend which kicks off this Sunday.

Yesterday, we looked at Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal and next up we are previewing Liverpool vs Everton.

Liverpool vs Everton

Liverpool will be seeking their first win in the WSL this weekend in the Merseyside derby.

The Reds have had a terrible start and only managed to claim one point so far this season which came in their 1-1 draw with Bristol City.

However, their rivals Everton currently sit in fifth position sharing nine points with both recently-promoted sides Tottenham and Manchester United. They have three wins under their belt, losing only to Reading and Manchester City.

In terms of head-to-head matches, Liverpool beat The Toffees back in May in a 3-1 thriller, though Everton squeaked past their neighbours last December with a 2-1 victory.

New player on the block Melissa Lawley has scored Vicky Jepson's side's only goal in the WSL.

The England international signed for the two-time WSL winners in the summer from Man City and is already making her mark as one of their brighter sparks.

Chloe Kelly is not only Everton's top goal scorer this season, she the top scorer in the league.

The 21-year-old has netted four goals in five games and was also voted the WSL player of the month for September.

The match is being held at Anfield as the women return to the ground for the first time since their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal in 2013.

Liverpool vs Everton kicks off at 3pm on Sunday and is available to watch on the FA Player app.
