Singer Harry Styles is set to join actress Lily James in a movie adaptation of the LGBTQ+ novel My Policeman by Bethan Roberts.

It has also been reported that Tony award winner Michael Grandage will direct the film while Oscar nominee Ron Nyswaner will write the screenplay.

The novel, based in the late 1960’s, is about a man called Patrick who arrives at Marion and Tom’s home. It goes on to explore the then illegal romance between Tom and Patrick.

Production on the project is due to start in the summer of 2021.

James is next starring in an adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s Rebecca on Netflix.

While Styles has just signed on to feature in Olivia Wilde’s thriller Don’t Worry Darling, where he will star alongside Dakota Johnson, Olivia Coleman and Florence Pugh.

The former One Direction star released his latest album Fine Line in December and had to postpone his world tour due to the pandemic.
