Reading travel to Brighton in the Women's Super League as they set their sights on the top five

Hope Powell's struggling Brighton side will be looking for a first home victory of the 2019/20 season at the Broadfield Stadium when they take on Reading this weekend.

The Seagulls have won just once in seven Women's Super League games so far and were thoroughly outplayed by newly-promoted Manchester United 4-0 last time out.

Shipping an average of two goals per game, the south coast outfit could be reliant on Kayleigh Green to bail them out against Reading.

The 31-year-old forward has bagged two league goals so far and has been a positive spark in an otherwise underperforming side.

Meanwhile, Reading have had a mixed time of it in the opening couple of months of the season.

With three wins, one draw and two defeats, Kelly Chambers' side currently sit sixth with a game in hand on all those above them.

A win against Brighton on Friday would take them above Man United and just six points off Chelsea at the top of the table.

Only four players have scored more goals so far in the WSL than Jade Moore, so her sharpness in front of goal could prove to be the difference for the Royals on Sunday.

The match kicks off at 19:45pm on Friday and will be shown on the FA Player.

There will also be a full round-up of all the weekend's games on the NewsChain website.
