5 min: Tame opening few minutes from both sides here, not what you would normally associate with a derby game.

Everton enjoying most of the ball but no chances created just yet.

6 min: GOAL! Everton take an early lead with their first real attack.

A speculative punt forward is pounced on by Boye-Hlorkah. The forward gets her foot to the ball in front of Foster to slide it across for Christiansen to slot it into an open goal.

9 min: Everton really getting on top now since the goal as Christiansen and Boye-Hlorkah run the Liverpool backline ragged.

Boye-Hlorkah is almost in behind again but the flag goes up.

11 min: A ball from the right is curled in towards Clinton. The Everton midfielder brings it down but is adjudged to have down so with her arm and the referee blows for a free-kick.

14 min: Liverpool are pinned back in their own half and haven’t really got out since the goal nearly ten minutes ago.

Graham tries to feed a ball through the lines but it runs through to Foster and the Liverpool keeper holds on to it for as long as she can in a bid to take the sting out of this pressure.

17 min: The visitors really need to be doing more to move up the pitch here. Sevecke is able to amble up to the half-way line before picking a pass into Christiansen. It’s too easy for the Toffees to move up the pitch right now.

19 min: First sight of goal for Liverpool as Babajide whips a lovely ball into Rachel Furness on the edge of the box.

Furness looks to get an early shot off by Danielle Turner instinctively sticks a foot out to block and clear away. Brilliant defending.

21 min: Lucy Graham tries to let fly from the edge of the area but it’s blocked well by a host of red shirts. Handball shouts from a number of blue shirts. No movement from the referee.

23 min: Pattinson gets a nice bit of joy down the left-hand side as she curls one towards the back post. Clinton is charging forward as she looks to get a boot on the cross but there’s too much on it and it bounces out of play.

25 min: Free-kick for Liverpool is whipped in by Kearns. A number of shirts appear to all get a touch to the ball and its tamely into the arms of Korpela.
