8 min: Real tempo to the start of this match as both sides look for an opening.

Batlle finds Staniforth in behind but her ball into the middle falls short of Zelem.

It eventually breaks out to Tobin Heath who tries a speculative shot from 35 yards out and it’s well wide of Karen Bardsley’s goal.

10 min: CHANCE! Bronze cuts out a pass from Millie Turner and charges at the Red Devils defence. She looks up and clips a ball in. It’s half cleared but then finds its way through to Stanway who has a snapp shot over the top.

Should have done better fron 12 yards out.

12 min: Galton wins a corner for United. It’s whipped in with pace by Tobin Heath but it evades everyone and rolls out for a thrown in to the visitors.

13 min: CHANCE! Another great opportunity for United as Galton feeds Lauren James down the left for the first time. The English striker looks up and brilliantly picks out Heath in the middle but the American misses the ball as she stretched to get a flick on it!

Any kind of contact and that was 1-0. Very good start from United.

15 min: ANOTHER CHANCE! This is one-way traffic.

Zelem slides Heath in to the right-hand side of the penalty area. She picks out James in the middle and the striker’s venomous effort is parried away well by Bardsley.

City are really, really under pressure.

18 min: City look overrun in the midfield at the moment. 

Just as I say that Janine Beckie tries to find Caroline Weir inside the penalty area after nice build-up play, but Batlle is alert and able to intercept and clear.

21 min: United keeper Ramsey gets away with one there.

She tries to clear and is put under pressure by Weir. Her clearance is smashed along the floor and lands straight at the feet of Stanway. The Lioness takes a touch and let’s fly from 25 yards but drags it wide.

24 min: City break with Park after nice intricate player in the midfield but her cross is way over the top of both Weir and Beckie.

Wasted end product after a lovely little break from the visitors.

27 min: City have turned the screw a little now as they seek that ball in to find Beckie or Weir.

Bronze looks to whip another ball into the middle but Galton closes the angle and City go all the way back before coming again and then losing the ball.

All of City’s attacks are coming down the right at the moment. Lucy Bronze looks like a woman on a mission.

29 min: Anyone have money on another 2-2? Think you’d get much better odds now than you would have before the game.

It’s been a good game but the cutting edge from both sides has been lacking.
