Rachel Ball v Jorgelina Guanini: Round 1

That huge height and reach advantage the most prevalent factor early on as Ball tries to get her jab moving and find the angles over the top of Guanini’s guard.

Hard opening round to score but think Ball may just have edged it with the cleaner work.

10-9 Ball.

Rachel Ball v Jorgelina Guanini: Round 2

Ball steps on the gas a little at the beginning of the second as she unleashes some mean left hooks to the head of Guanini. The 28-year-old Argentine staggers back a little but eventually gathers herself again and the rest of the round is a bit more nip and tuck.

Ball clips Guanini a few more times towards the end of the round as Guanini drops her hands. Think that has to be another one in the bag for the Brit.

20-18 Ball.

Rachel Ball v Jorgelina Guanini: Round 3

The height difference looks like it could be a problem for Guanini but she may have bagged herself the third here.

In the final few seconds the Argentine gets through and may have done enough to take the round with a nice left-right combination.

29-28 Ball.

Rachel Ball v Jorgelina Guanini: Round 4

Ball looks the faster of the two but Guanini appears to have a bit more meat behind her punches.

Scoring shots from Guanini as that right hand over the top continues to bring her joy. Ball is just overreaching a little and whistling past the Argentine’s head.

May well be all square after four.

38-38.

Rachel Ball v Jorgelina Guanini: Round 5

A difficult round to score as Ball goes searching for Guanini who circles around the edge of the ring.

Ball’s jab is clearly the better but Guanini is having joy with the looping shots from odd angles.

Think the Brit may just have done enough from a technical standpoint there. Very close though.

48-47 Ball.

Rachel Ball v Jorgelina Guanini: Round 6

Ball lands a superb straight right hand followed by a lovely left hook which stuns Guanini momentarily.

Then in the final minute of the round the Aldridge-born fighter unleashes a barrage of punches on Guanini’s body and head. This could well be the point of the fight were Ball begins to move away from her opponent.

58-56 Ball.

Rachel Ball v Jorgelina Guanini: Round 7

Guanini looks a little flat-footed now as these flurries from Ball continue to get through when she backs the Argentine into the corner with clever footwork.

Guanini answers back at the end of the round with a couple of nice looping right hands but it’s Ball’s again for me.

68-65 Ball.

Rachel Ball v Jorgelina Guanini: Round 8

Ball continues to keep Guanini at bay with her long left hand and straight right hand down the pipe. Another tough round for both but Ball again landed the cleaner work. It’s a closer fight than my scorecard suggests but Ball is doing enough in the two-minute blocks.

78-74 Ball.

Rachel Ball v Jorgelina Guanini: Round 9

Ball’s footwork is another level to Guanini as she continues to corner her but it’s difficult to see many clean shots that landed in that round from the Brit.

Guanini gets through with a couple of nice left hooks to probably take the round. But the Argentine needs to pull something out of the bag in the final two minutes here.

87-84 Ball.

Rachel Ball v Jorgelina Guanini: Round 10

Another British world champion? Surely Ball has done enough to add her first boxing world title to the three kickboxing world titles she has already won.

It was good last round of the fight as Ball’s sharpness shows and Guanini looks really quite tired.

97-93 on my card. Let’s see what the judges thought. Good, entertaining fight!
