Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

33 min: Kelly tries her luck from distance and it nearly falls for Hemp before on its way through but Williams is able to gather.

Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

35 min: Miedema tries to run at City but Bronze nicks the ball away from her and danger is averted once more. Haven’t really seen anything of Miedema since that early goal.

Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

36 min: CHANCE! Think Miedema heard me because she nearly has a second. Mead plays a wonderful low cross along the floor and Miedema has made the run towards the six-yard box but it’s just a little too fast for her as she fails to reach it.

Excellent from Mead.

Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

38 min: City are playing it out from the back and although at times it looks worrying, it is also working for them at times.

They work it from back to front and it reaches Chloe Kelly who tries her luck from 25 yards but it’s always rising.

Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

41 min: You have to say Gemma Bonner and Steph Houghton have been untroubled as a centre-half pairing since the early goal.

City have grown into this one and they’re on top now.

Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

42 min: We saw one of these earlier where a player is maybe too honest. Lucy Bronze looks to be fouled in the area but she stays on her feet and can’t muster a cross.

Again, not saying players should throw themselves over but…

Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

Here is Mewis’ equaliser, her third league goal of the season.

Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

44 min: As we approach the break, I imagine Gareth Taylor will be the happier of the two managers. The momentum is with Manchester City and Arsenal will need a big boost from Joe Montemurro.

Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

45 min: Two minutes added on.

Miedema skips inside but runs into Steph Houghton’s fair challenge. Not having it all her own way out there, Miedema.

Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

45+2 min: Kelly shows off her box of tricks but then tamely crosses into the arms of Williams. A waste but Kelly does look so dangerous with her pace and trickery.

That should be that for the first half.
